Board of Adjustment
Utah State law requires all communities that have adopted zoning legislation to also have an appeal authority. The purpose of the Board of Adjustment is to provide a process for relief of any injustice that may arise due to the strict application of a zoning ordinance. Following incorporation in 1996, the Taylorsville City Council adopted Title 13 (Zoning) of the Taylorsville City Code and thereby established zoning legislation and the Board of Adjustment for the City.
The Board of Adjustment (Board) consists of five members and two or more alternate members who are appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. Board members are residents of Taylorsville.
The Planning Division of the Community Development Department provides staff support for the Board. Jean Gallegos, Administrative Assistant, is responsible for publishing Board meeting agendas and for the creation of meeting minutes.
