The City of Taylorsville has formed many partnerships with those involved in economic development and business assistance.  Below you will find a list of some of our partners.  We have found them to be staffed with attentive and knowledgeable personnel who want to help your business be successful and be part of a viable community.


         Our regional chamber of commerce proudly represents the business voice of the City of Taylorsville along with West Valley City and Kearns -- an area representing nearly a quarter of a million people and 5,000 businesses. The chamber                   mission is to strengthen and promote the shared interests of the business community through business advocacy and representation, relationship development, and community exposure and engagement.  Joining ChamberWest will                         increase your exposure and provide access to educational and networking opportunities for you and staff.  It demonstrates to your customers and employees the value you place in supporting and growing a positive business environment in           making the community a better place to work, live, and play.  ChamberWest is a CATALYST for business growth, a CHAMPION for a stronger community, and a CONVENER of leaders and influencers.

Local First Utah

Local First Utah is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that seeks to educate the public and government about the importance of locally-owned independent business to the community. Membership is open to all Utah businesses that are at least 51% locally owned and make their business decisions independently.


SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and helping small businesses start, grow, and succeed nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and has been mentoring small business owners for more than forty years.  SCORE provides local workshops and events and online workshops available 24/7.

The SBA has a wealth of information about starting and managing a business, locating available funding, and a variety of resources that can help you with your specific business needs.


The Mayor's Office of Business and Economic Development was created to increase the number of jobs and investments in Salt Lake County, Utah.  The office supports business creation and growth in the county and technology development. The County leads collaborative efforts with key local partners, including EDCUtah, Salt Lake County Chambers of Commerce, cities within the county, commercial real estate and development groups, financial organizations, and small business support agencies.


          Utah Department of Workforce Services

           The Department of Workforce Services provides assistance to job seekers, offers information and services to Utah businesses, and supports the new initiative to help Veterans match their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) with
civilian occupational codes.  They also assist with such services as unemployment benefits, food stamps, financial assistance, and child care.

Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED)

The Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) works to nurture an environment where Utah companies can be successful and the business community can create jobs that raise Utah’s citizens’ standard of living through the administration of programs that are based around industries or "economic clusters" that demonstrate the best potential for development.  The Governor's Office of Economic Development utilizes state resources and private sector contracts to fulfill its mission.

Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund (UMLF)

Utah Micro Loan Fund: Building Brighter Futures through Small Business
UMLF has worked in partnership with members of Utah's financial banking community to help launch or expand more than 400 small businesses across the state.

Utah Supplier Development Council

Utah Supplier Development Council (USDC) is a non-profit organization and is dedicated to increasing the dollars spent by large corporations and government agencies for services and products from Minority, Women-Owned, HUBZone, Veteran-Owned, and Service Disabled Veteran businesses.  USDC connects you with purchasing agents and buyers from major corporations and government agencies.

Vest Pocket Coalition

Salt Lake Vest Pocket Business Coalition is an association of local business owners who want to protect the precious diversity of our neighborhoods and preserve the choice, texture, and vibrancy that make us what we are in the Salt Lake Valley.
