Taylorsville residents interested in gardening, learning how to start your own plants or how to keep your garden healthy and productive can contact the Community Gardens for help. The gardens and greenhouse are located behind the Heritage Center at 1488 W 4800 South, offering a full outdoor gardening experience with plots available to rent for a nominal fee. Tools, watering drip lines, and helpful advice are all included in the cost! Gardeners have been growing beautiful vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers with great success. One section of the gardens are dedicated to ADA needs gardeners and another area is planted with foods to be sent to the local Food Bank.
The new greenhouse creates more space for winter gardening, plant propagation and early seeding for spring vegetables and flowers. It is also the site of gardening classes and instruction for the seasoned and beginner gardener.
