Focus: Help the City and its residents conserve resources, reduce pollution, slow climate change and ensure a healthy, sustainable future for Taylorsville residents. 

 

 

Taylorsville City Green Committee Charter/Responsibilities:

 

The Taylorsville Green Committee has been organized to assist in creating programs that continue to help the City and its residents conserve resources, reduce pollution, slow climate change and ensure a healthy, sustainable future for Taylorsville residents by:

  1. Providing leadership and practical solutions to ensure a prosperous community that will sustain healthy lives for our citizens and have a positive impact upon the environment in which we live and in which our future generations exist.
  2. Working to inspire individuals and organizations – both within and outside City government – to take actions and implement polices that help make Taylorsville City a model of health and ecologically sustainable living.
  3. Working with City government, business groups, nonprofit organizations, and other partners to protect and enhance Taylorsville’s distinctive environmental qualities and livability.

        Encouraging businesses in Taylorsville to consider and incorporate sustainable practices

Residents:
        Encouraging businesses in Taylorsville to consider and incorporate sustainable practices through programs and "Green" activities

City Government:
Encouraging and supporting Taylorsville City in considering and incorporating sustainable practices through building practices and energy codes.

Public Schools:
        Involving students in "green" practices and activities.

Recycling Programs:
        Encouraging residents and Taylorsville City to incorporate recycling practices.
