Localscapes Class

Create Your Ideal Yard, Learn about Localscapes

Get some tips on landscaping your yard in ways to save water and money. Just in time for spring planting, the Taylorsville Green Committee is hosting a Localscapes class on Thursday, April 23, from 7 to 8 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers. The class is free but please register for it here to hold your seat.

This class, teaching the localscapes method, is presented by conservation staff from the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District.

Localscapes was developed by a team of horticulturists, landscape designers, maintenance pros, irrigation experts and members of the water industry. The goal was simple: Create a landscaping approach that takes all the complex and confusing science behind landscape design and simplify it to create landscapes that thrive in Utah. Plus, a localscaped yard uses two-thirds less water than a traditional Utah landscape.
