Fantastic Sams first opened in Taylorsville in 1995 and its beauticians and barbers have been cutting, dyeing and styling hair ever since. 

In celebration, the salon marked its 30th anniversary with a grand re-opening and Ribbon Cutting on March 20, joined by Taylorsville City and ChamberWest officials, as well as its owners Seth and Amanda Cruze, manager Kayla Sims, employees and family members. 

City and ChamberWest leaders applauded the salon's steady business over three decades as a significant achievement and milestone, and its owners credited a supportive community and amazing team.

“We fell in love with Taylorsville,” said Amanda Cruze, who is from the Springville area. “We want people to come in and feel happy.”

She thanked all of their employees, as well as family gathered for the event, for bringing their milestone anniversary to reality. “All of their love and support made this possible,” she said. “It’s the team that makes the salon, and the team here is really special.”

Sims noted that the salon is fully staffed, and it is a full-service salon offering haircuts, color, waxing and updos for special occasions like weddings or proms. The salon is also extending its hours to Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sims estimates that about 40% of the salon’s business involves requests for specific stylists, including one particularly “fantastic” employee who has been with the Taylorsville location for a remarkable 18 years. The rest of their business comes from walk-ins or online bookings. “A lot of times, walk-ins become regulars,” Sims noted.

In congratulating the salon, Mayor Kristie Overson said she remembers when the salon first opened and how she even brought in her own kids for haircuts while they were growing up. “It’s a great location,” she said, “and we want you to be here for many more years. We applaud you!”
