The Summit Vista retirement community in Taylorsville celebrated completion of its ‘Neighborhood One’ and marked the groundbreaking of ‘Neighborhood Two’ with a Ribbon Cutting event, joined by residents and community leaders.
Neighborhood One construction began in 2017, setting the foundation for Summit Vista’s vision of an active, engaging retirement community. The neighborhood consists of a 62,000-square-foot clubhouse and six residential buildings — Red Pine Ridge, Maple Point, Poplar Creek, Spruce Grove, Cottonwood Court, and the newest addition, Oak Springs.
Neighborhood Two will introduce an additional five residential buildings and an enhanced clubhouse, designed to create a luxury-living environment for all.
"The completion of Neighborhood One at Summit Vista is a stunning accomplishment," Mayor Kristie Overson said at the event on May 16. "You should be so proud, and we are so proud of you! The completion of this first neighborhood, Neighborhood One, is simply remarkable, and what a significant addition to our own community of Taylorsville."
With 600 apartments in all, Neighborhood One will be home to nearly 1,000 more residents when fully occupied. When fully complete, Summit Vista will have built approximately 1,600 independent living apartments. And at full occupancy, Mayor Overson said, this one-of-a-kind retirement community in Taylorsville will serve as a vibrant community of more than 2,500 residents, employing more than 800 team members.
"As a city, it has been a delight to share in your vision and see all that you have done," Mayor Overson said. "In fact, it was almost seven years ago that we gathered together for a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate Summit Vista’s original grand opening. Summit Vista has been an amazing partner over these past years and many years before that as we have worked together in planning. We could not have asked for a better supporter and ally of Taylorsville City."
Located at 3390 W. Signal Peak Drive on a campus of more than 100 acres, Summit Vista offers a dynamic, independent living experience with access to world-class amenities and an active social environment.
“The Neighborhood One completion and the Neighborhood Two groundbreaking reflect our unwavering commitment to provide an unparalleled retirement experience,” said Walter Cline, Summit Vista CEO. “We are thrilled to celebrate this hallmark occasion with our residents, community partners, and future residents.”
