Applebee’s recently celebrated its grand reopening in Taylorsville with a ribbon-cutting event including city and Chamberwest officials. The festivities also included free merchandise, news coverage and a radio booth.
“Applebee’s has been in our community for years and years,” Mayor Kristie Overson said at a recent City Council meeting. “But they have remodeled and wanted to remind everyone that they’re here and that business is great.
“The Ribbon Cutting was really fun,” she added. “The new interior looks amazing and there is still a feeling of community. When you walk in the door, you can tell that you are in Applebee’s in Taylorsville.”
While there, Mayor Overson had lunch with the owner of the franchise, which she said was a delightful experience. “We are so happy to have Applebee’s here in our city.”
The casual dining restaurant was first established in 1980 in Decatur, Ga. Since then, it has expanded to more that 1,500 locations including the newly reopened Taylorsville location. Today, it is a go-to for family and friends to spend time together and enjoy entrees, appetizers, beers and cocktails.
