As the colder weather sets in, Taylorsville parks are shifting to winter operations. While the parks remain open for walking, playing and enjoying seasonal scenery, several amenities are unavailable during the colder months.
The city typically begins its winter schedule around Nov. 1 and continues through April 1, weather permitting. During this seasonal transition:
• Restrooms are closed
• Pavilion reservations are not offered
• Regular maintenance is paused
These adjustments help protect facilities from freezing temperatures and allow city crews to focus on winter road work and other priority needs.
The Millrace Dog Park remains open seven days a week, except when occasional maintenance or severe weather requires temporary closure. Please note there is construction near the Millrace Park entrance, but the Dog Park is still accessible.
While crews cannot guarantee the Dog Park will remain open throughout the winter, as long as the gate is open, residents and their dogs are welcome to visit. See additional information about the Dog Park and its use here.
