For more than two decades, Legacy House of Taylorsville has been a home and gathering place for seniors and their families. Now, the longtime community fixture has a fresh look to carry it into the years ahead.

Taylorsville City and ChamberWest officials celebrated the newly refurbished assisted living and memory care center with Legacy House staff, residents and supporters at an Aug. 11 Ribbon Cutting.

Legacy Retirement Communities has been caring for seniors and their families since 1996, believing that the more their residents can be independent, the healthier they are and the better they feel.

At Legacy House of Taylorsville, residents have access to daily activities, restaurant-style dining, welcoming common areas and a variety of apartment floor plans in a home-like setting. The center includes 25 memory care units and 93 assisted living units, with studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

David Webster, partner and chief operating officer of Western States, which manages the center, noted that Legacy House of Taylorsville has now been serving the community for 22 years.

“We distinguish ourselves by embracing a culture that strives to make meaningful connections,” Webster said.

Executive Director Darren Jacobson said the renovation offered an opportunity to celebrate not only the updated surroundings but also the relationships at the heart of the center.

“It is wonderful to celebrate such a milestone,” Jacobson said. “This is a space where we are focused on building memories with families and visitors.”

Mayor Kristie Overson congratulated the Legacy House team on the completed renovation and the work they do for residents and their families.

“Congratulations on this refresh,” Mayor Overson said at the Ribbon Cutting. “It is just beautiful. You are providing service with heart, and that is so impressive to all of us.”
