Taylorsville homesThe City of Taylorsville created the Home Rehabilitation Loan Program (HRLP) to help low- to moderate-income households with home repairs, structural problems, health and safety issues, code compliance, and select energy efficiency projects. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) in partnership with Salt Lake County.

The goal of the program is to keep residents in their homes and upgrade their housing situation, as well as improve neighborhoods and communities. To qualify, residents must meet income standards listed below and, on the application, (that can be found by clicking the button above). Applicants also must live in Taylorsville, own their home (they can't be renters), and the home cannot be in foreclosure.

ELIGIBLE REPAIRS

If awarded, the loan pays for eligible home repairs, such as:

  • Health or safety hazards
  • Accessibility modifications
  • Code compliance issues
  • Select energy efficiency improvements

Income limits for the program are based on a maximum of 80 percent of the median family income for Taylorsville City, as outlined (on mobile devices, scroll table to the left):

ASSISTANCE PROVIDED

The program provides 0% interest loans of up to $40,000 (or 15% of the value of the home, whichever is lower) to assist eligible homeowners financially with home repairs. Loans are deferred, meaning no monthly payments are required for five years and the loans are forgivable if the home remains your primary residence for five years.
