Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program
Taylorsville City is Seeking Two Homes in Need of Repairs
The City of Taylorsville is seeking at least two homes in need of repairs. The cost of the repairs would be funded through the federal Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program that is administered by Salt Lake County.
The goal of the program is to keep residents in their home and upgrade their housing situation, as well as improve neighborhoods and communities. To qualify, residents must meet income standards listed below and on the application (that can be found by clicking the button above). Applicants also must live in Taylorsville, own their home (they can't be renters), and the home cannot be in foreclosure.
If selected, the grant would pay for home repairs or new installations, such as a:
- Furnace
- Roof
- Wiring
- Hot water heater
- Windows
- Siding
"The grant pays for whatever they need to keep their home liveable," said Ken Donarski, Taylorsville's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Homes program coordinator." That's really what we're after is to make it a liveable, affordable home for them.
"We want to keep them in their house, maintain the viability of that house for the future and not let it deteriorate," he added.
Income limits for the program are based on a maximum of 80 percent of the median family income for Taylorsville City, as outlined (on mobile devices, scroll table to the left):
| Family Size | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |
| Household Income Limit | $68,750 | $78,550 | $88,350 | $98,150 | $106,050 | $113,900 | $121,750 |
