Call for Sculpture Artists
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, April 15 at 5 p.m.
Call Type: Sculpture Exhibitions
Event Dates: September 2025 to September 2026
The City of Taylorsville’s Plaza +ART Program is seeking to select 17 sculpture art pieces for a yearly rotating outdoor public art exhibit/art walk. Artwork will be exhibited for one year. In addition to providing stipends ($500 for selected artists), the art pieces that are available for purchase will be marketed on the city’s website, social media pages and in the Taylorsville Journal, as well as the physical display of the artwork at our many city events throughout the year.
The exhibit space is located at 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd., nestled between Taylorsville City Hall and the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center. The area known as “Centennial Plaza” is a unique space that serves as a “living room for the community” and is heavily used for events such as our weekly food truck nights, our weekly farmers market as well as a place to stroll through, enjoy a picnic or simply hang out with family and friends. The plaza is composed of beautiful landscaping and water features, an amphitheater, benches, tables, pavilions, green space and sculpture art lined along a lighted walking path.
The community is invited to an annual Art Walk event held at the end of September. Artists whose pieces have been selected are encouraged to attend this event. Artists are invited talk with the community about their piece such as the process of making it and the inspiration behind it. Artists who are unable to represent their artwork at the event are encouraged to send a representative on their behalf or provide a short write-up that can be read aloud.
