Artist's description of the art piece: "The Jordan River Corridor is a special place. It weaves through urban spaces while supporting many native plant and animal species. Sometimes we forget the river is there, quietly flowing on its way.

"This piece is a reminder that our connections to nature are much closer than we think, a life-giving artery below the mountains and bound for the Great Salt Lake. Buffleheads and coyote willows bend and play beneath the setting sun on Mount Olympus, while the moon rises over the shoulder of the Wasatch Range. Ultimately, this piece is about belonging."

Artist's bio: Caro Nilsson is a Salt Lake City-based painter and muralist whose work explores the relationship between perception and reality, particularly in the natural world. At its heart, her art reflects a personal connection to landscapes and the human and non-human influences that shape them.

Born in Vancouver, Wash., Caro holds a bachelor of arts degree in Fine Art and a bachelor of science in Architecture from the University of Virginia. She has completed numerous public art projects, including a UTA bus stop wrap at the Utah State Capitol, where her background in architecture has helped her create artwork that integrates seamlessly into the built environment.
